UKO Business Strategy
At UKO our business strategy is a belief that if we continually work to increase the value our customers receive, we will be taken care of. That is why we keep trying to provide our families with the most we can. Some examples of how we do this are given below.
No Testing Fees
Some schools charge $50 to $70 dollars for each belt test you take. That could be an additional $300 to $400 you might pay your first year. At UKO there are no additional test fees. All you pay is your monthly payment.
Family Rates
We give generous discounts to additional family members who join UKO.
Tuition Flexibility
You do not have to have a Contract at UKO. You can just pay a monthly fee with no long term commitment. If you do feel you can commit to longer periods of training time we can reduce your monthly fee substantially.
DVD's of Training Materials
We have developed 33 DVD's that we give out to students at no extra cost to help them with their training outside of the Karate School. We have another 18 DVD's in development.
Self Defense Classes
Periodically UKO offers Self Defense classes for kids, UKO family members, and the general public. UKO instructors have been teaching Self Defense for Olympic College for more than 7 years and are recognized as being very knowledgable.
Sleepovers and Movie Nights
Every few months we have a Sleepover or Movie Night (Parents Night Out?). Kids 6 to 12 bring their sleeping bags we watch movies, eat pizza, play games, and have door prizes. These are really fun events that are in high demand from the students.
Free Monthly Newsletter
The monthly UKO Newsletter lets students know about upcoming events and activities. The newsletter also has articles on health and fitness and insights from Sensei.
UKO Website
We are actively updating and adding materials to this website for our students. Once you become a member you gain access to areas you currently can't see on the Public Menu. Of course we have a calendar of events, and special announcements for our students on this site.
Special Events
Periodically we have special fun events such as our annual SUMO wrestling tournament for the kids or our Free Family Pool Party.
Karate Summer Camp
Our Karate Summer Camp has fun filled days of Karate, games, water fights, swimming, bowling, skating, field trips, movies, and more. This is a very active Summer Camp that tires them out. The Summer Camp is designed for children 6 to 12 years old.
