- For Your Health and Fitness
- For Powerful Self Defense Techniques
- For Exercising Mental Discipline and For Self Discovery
Health and Fitness
Karate exercises the whole body, especially those important core muscles we hear about these days. As a whole body exercise it is excellent for eliminating wastes and toxins from the body, and increasing the respiratory and cardiovascular systems.
Karate can be practiced in many ways and can include special breathing techniques. It can be practiced vigorously for physical exercise or it can be practiced mindfully for stimulation of the brain and nervous system, and for increased balance and coordination. Karate training can be modified to suit everyone's fitness needs.
Self Defense
There's one thing the News tells us; You never know when you or your loved ones may be confronted with violence. Having the knowledge of powerful self defense techniques can let you live confidently in such an uncertain world. Besides, if you are going to exercise, why not do exercise that also teaches you self defense.
Our Karate comes from the island of Okinawa. The Okinawan people had to have great self defense techniques because they were confronted by well armed Japanese Samurai. Hiding within the Karate practice and Kata, developed by the Okinawan Masters, are efficient and effective self defense techniques.
Mental Discipline and Self Discovery
To develop sharp Karate skills we must also develop a disciplined mind that is as sharp as a sword. This is called Karatedo; The Way of Karate or the Way of the Warrior. It means to use the path of Warrior to become wise and mature people.
As we progress, we come to see our own mind as our biggest opponent to success in a fight and success in life. With a focused mind we see our mental beliefs and strategies that limit our progress. These insights teach us about our lives and about Real Living.
Karate Training gives the Karate student a Personal Power of confidence, strength, and self esteem. Other people sense this strength in the presence of a Karate Master.
Karate training may not always be easy, but, if you use it to develop a Life Lived from Courage, Karate training will always be worth your time and effort.
